Icy New Year

Having bravely battled through the icy wastes to work today I was met by a bedraggled but jubilant knot of weans telling me that the school was shut, so here I am till Friday at least. It is beautiful, though. Happy New Year, by the way.

Can't you wander the lonely halls of the school like the ghost of teachers past? You could rant poetry as you go...

I actually like wandering like a shade through deserted corridors....did you know I went to P1 in the class I now teach in? Weirdly chilling, I think. Then there's the ghost......

We MIGHT see a dusting of snow tonight. I wouldn't mind some pretty to go with the biting cold!

Cold in my part of the world lasts a few days, eases off, then returns. This has set in for over a week.

If you wander the halls, kindly do not rattle any chains. A librarian might appear to shush you. ;)

Some weather we're having. I like it. The closed in feeling. Cosy. A harmless stranding.

Mind you, I hear their running out of salt, the pipes are rupturing, bread is scarce, and the birds can't dig for worms, because their earth has frozen solid. Maybe it will all melt in a month or two.

Happy New Year, btw, got your Xmas card. Thanks for the thought.
