Guid News

Just been told that 'Lochinver', that poem about Jane finding a cache of bank statements I'd buried in the garden - it was in 'Postcards from the Hedge' by the increasingly sexy and famous Roncadora Press -has been selected by Andrew Greig as one of the twenty 'Best Scottish Poems of 2009', to be published in the annual anthology by the Scottish Poetry Library.

'Old Photograph' was chosen for the 2006 one, ye can see it here:

Congratulations Hugh, that's brilliant news. My 'Old Photograph' poem was signed by Man City 3 minutes before the transfer deadline & made its debut in yesterday's 2-1 defeat to Hull. It was replaced after 32 minutes by a Robert Crawford haiku which went on to score two own goals & get sent off for being too short. My own poem's currently seeking a transfer to Altrincham & relative obscurity in the lower leagues.
